Many factors can make selling your pharmacy worthwhile, including retirement plans, changing market conditions, increased competition, or a desire to pursue other interests. We can help you assess your pharmacy’s current market position and advise you on timing to achieve the best outcome.
You cannot sell your pharmacy for the best price unless you know what it is worth. Each pharmacy valuation is individual and dependent on many factors. We value pharmacies every day and there are huge variations dependent on factors such as location, NHS/OTC mix, nursing homes, staffing costs, to name just a few factors. Please contact us for a free no obligation valuation.
We know that for most pharmacy owners confidentiality is crucial and one of the biggest worries during the process of selling the business. We have signed confidentiality agreements with every buyer and will be in control of all communications, so that you are only contacted at times of your choosing and by a method that suits you.
Appointments will be arranged to suit you i.e. outside working hours etc, which will minimise the likelihood of your staff becoming suspicious.
Whilst it is possible to sell a pharmacy within days of it going onto the market, to achieve the best price, serious buyers need to receive and discuss the information provided with their advisers. As a general guide we find 2 to 3 months from the initial marketing of the pharmacy to be the usual time scale for arriving at the sale agreed stage. Thereafter allow another 4-5 months on average for the legal process to complete.
We maintain an extensive network of vetted buyers and actively market your pharmacy through targeted channels. We’re able to handle enquiries, screening, and negotiations on your behalf.
Once you accept an offer to purchase your pharmacy, several steps must take place to finalise the transaction. These typically include the buyer’s due diligence, securing finance approval, and completing the transfer of ownership. During this period, professional guidance from your accountant, solicitor, and pharmacy advisors is essential to ensure a smooth and successful completion.
